SoundsHoodToMe had its first board meeting last Wednesday, providing us with our first opportunity to showcase the backpack sleeve MVP to the Entrepreneurship class. We received many mixed reviews from our classmates, some believing we've caught on to something great while others were unimpressed, most likely due to the initial quality of the material used. Overall, the class pointed to some valuable suggestions. Primarily, it became clear to us that the hood attachment on the top of the backpack protector was unwanted by most. This proves beneficial to us, as the placement and conjoining of plastic to create the hood would likely be our greatest cost and effort. Secondly, we learned that the general lack of interest for our product came from the need for a visually appealing design, which could encompass various color schemes and images to depict individuality. Furthermore, it was suggested by many students to pursue the "elementary school children and parents" customer segment. This will allow us to create specific designs for each of our target markets: college students and elementary school students.
